Race Set-up

The event starts on Friday, May, 24th 2024 with a meeting of all runners in the team hotel in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan and will end in  Paro on Saturday, June, 1st 2024.

The race will start 80km east of Thimphu and finish in the most spectacular monastery on earth, Taktshang Goemba (The Tiger’s Nest).

All runners will be picked-up at Paro International Airport and transported to the team hotel in Thimphu.(60min drive)

The race is projected to be 200km held in 6 stages.

Most of the course is in remote areas and not accessible by vehicles.

All runners must bring the mandatory equipment required and their personal belongings.

The race is designed as a full board event. Breakfast, lunch and dinner accompanied by non-alcoholic drinks will be provided at each camp.

During the race week, all competitors and organisers will stay in the same camp. Camps can be tents, monastery or farmhouses.Toilet facilities are available at each camp but mattresses are not provided.

Each runner has to carry her/his personal and mandatory racing equipment as announced.

Personal belongings, packed in one bag, and not exceedeing 10 kg in weight, will be transported from camp to camp.

Personal belongings (one bag per person) that are not needed by competitors during the race week will be transported directly from the hotel in Thimphu to the hotel in Paro (only one bag per person allowed)

The award ceremony including a buffet dinner and a local cultural show will take place in a hotel in Paro on Friday night, JMay 31st.

On Saturday, June 1st participants will have the option to extend their stay in Bhutan by choosing an extension program (see recommended offers) or will be shuttled to Paro International Airport.
