Race Report Stage 2 - Bhutan

Thank you to the Lama of the Chorten Nyingpo Monastery, who invited the runners to join the evening praying session, for a spiritual recovery. After a peaceful and sound sleep, the runners are ready for Stage 2 (29km), running through a 19km scenic ascend to the Sinchula Pass to 3,400m, heading to the Thimphu valley and arriving at the home of one of our Bhutanese runner, Zamba. His family has been hosting GlobalLimits’ runners since our first race.

Today is another tight race for the top runners. However, we would like to highlight Juan Ricardo Ferrero from Argentina, who took the 8th overall place today and our host Zamba, who placed 7th overall today. Carlos Llano from Spain also moved up 17 places to finishing at the 19th place.

For the top three males, Tommy Chen from Taiwan claimed the first place today and Guillaume Degoulet from France is only 2 minute behind him. Alan Zagury from France finished 3rd today.

At the lady’s side, Elizabeth Margeirsdottir from Iceland keeps the first place today but Angela Zäh from Germany is only three seconds behind her. Katherine Pang from Hong Kong takes the third place today.

In the overall ranking Tommy Chen overtook the first place, now 1:30mins ahead of Guillaume Degoulet and Alan Zagury took the third.

No changes in the female overall ranking with Angela Zäh in lead ahead of Elisabet Margeirsdottir and Sarah Sawyer.

We hope the weather will stay good tomorrow for our runners.
