Breaking News Stage 5 - Bhutan

A big step towards to the finish line - the fifth stage is the longest stage with a challenging 54km run through the beautiful Paro valley. Our runners passed the Paro fortress, the airport - some of them lucky enough to watch the landing of planes through the narrow valley. The finish line is located at the Drukyal fortress, which was built to celebrate Bhutan's victory against their invaders.

An excellent day for Dutch runner Lisenka Beenders, who finished as the fastest woman today and is now 4th woman overall. Second was overall leader Chimi Dema from Bhutan and third South African Belinda van der Riet who overtook the 2nd rank overall. Third is now Kelly Ridgway-Smith.
