Breaking News - Final Race Report Bhutan


The 4th edition of The Last Secret in Bhutan ended today with a spectacular finish at the Tiger's Nest Monastery, hanging 3000m high in the cliffs above the Paro valley.

After 200km in 6 stages and a total climb of 10.800m an impressive 100% of the runners from 16 countries finished the race.

Overall winner is Greek Argyrios Papathanasopoulos in a record time of 23:17hrs. Second was Swiss Peter Osterwalder in 24:44 ahead of Swiss Karl Alpiger in 26:32hrs.

Overall female winner was French Véronique Messina in a record time of 26:31hrs. She is the only runner in GlobalLimits history who now has won all 3 stage races, Bhutan, Cambodia and Sri Lanka. She well deserved the GlobalLimits Heritage Site Runner series award.

Second female runner was Véronique Chamberland from France in 28:38hrs ahead of Dutch runner Julia Romanova in 30:57hrs.

Derek Kwik from Hongkong also received the GlobalLimits Heritage Site runner series award for joining all three stage races organized by GlobalLimits.
