Race Report Stage 5 - Albania


We are getting closer! The second last stage of GlobalLimits Albania -The Hidden Treasure - started this morning at the ancient monastery of Mesopotan. After passing rolling hills, grassland and local villages,
the runners arrived at checkpoint 3, where they climbed a 1100m high hill. At Check point 4, we have a wonderful panoramic view of the Ionian Sea and the finish line - Butrinti National Park.  

Tonight our runners stay by the lake in the village of Murci. They will also join the village festival with complementary Albanian dinner and traditional Albanian polyphonic dance performance.

Xavi Marina from Spain and Vincent Rivoire from France jointly win the 43,2kmStage 5, followed by Micheal Traub from the USA.  
In the female category, Sayuri Imanishi from Japan again gives an impressive performance winning the stage with 5:59.  Harri Washington from the UK also rolls and takes the second place today. Teresa Lam from HK finished 3rd.  
Beatrize Camiade from Mexico, Mark Rawson from England and Václav Vacik from Czech Republic also done very well today improving their overall rankings.  

Tomorrow is the last stage where runners will run 14km to the UNESCO world
heritage site of Butrint.
