Race Report Stage 2 - Albania


The second stage of GlobalLimits Albania - The Hidden Treasure started today 7am at the village of Buze.  The runners ran down the winding road through the picturesque mountain valley, passing some local villages and a very beautiful valley (also with good opportunity to showcase runners' technical downhill running skills). 

After the last two km climb, the runners arrived at the finishing line at the village of Peshtan.  Tonight they will spend the evening with local family and may even try homemade Albanien cuisines! 

Again, Xavi marina from Spain won this stage with Vincent Rivoire from France in the second place and Micheal Traub from the USA took the third place today.  

The female winner today was again Lena Maliqi from Kosovo. Second today was Ruthann Sheahan from Ireland ahead of Sayuri Imanishi.

Slight changes in the overall rankings: Still in lead is Xavi Marina ahead of Vicent Rivoire. In third now Michael Traub.

In the female category Lena Maliqi is still leading. Now second is Sayuri Imanishi ahead of Teresa Lam from HK.

Special mention Jessica Roper from USA finished at an impressive 17th place at this stage and Cyrus Parvine who had a far better day than yesterday. 

Tomorrow is the longest stage with 55km guiding the runners through the beautiful Zagoria Valley.
