Breakimg News - Race Report Stage 3 - Bhutan


Todays 3rd stage of 29km leaded the runners along the scenic Thimphu Valley before a steep climp to the second checkpoint. Here the runners enjoyed a fantastic view down to the Royal Palace and the Government building. After a final ascend of 9km runners arrived at the Phajoding Monastery where they were welcomed by 85 monks. The monastery isthe camp in 3600m altitude.

At the Phajoding Monastery, GlobalLimits runners played the annual football match with the monks. Almost every runner played at least a few minutes. This year the monks team won 4:3. However, Lama Namgay announced Katarina Lukovic as the player of the match.

As in the previous stages, Kurt Alderweirelt from Belgium won the stage in 3:43hrs ahead of Loz Wong who finisged together with Michael Traub, Female winner once again was Sabina Bacinelli ahead of Ruthann Sheahan and Wiwin Leung. Great day for Cyndi Shettle from the US finishing 4th in the female category.

Tomorrow the runners will head down to Paro valley.
