Pre-race report 6th GlobalLimits Cambodia - The Ancient Khmer Path -

Since 2012, GlobalLimits has been bringing runners from all over the world to compete in the mesmerising 220km Ancient Khmer Path in Cambodia. In our 6th edition, runners from 16 countries will run in the epic route from North of the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, to the most famous locale of the Khmer Empire, the UNESCO world heritage site, the Angkor Wat Temple.

Among all the runners, 3 of them (Frank Alvarez from Mexico; Megan Davies from the UK; and Maria Rotger from Spain) will be winners of the „GlobalLimits Heritage Site Runner“ series award (upon competing this race). Also, it will be one of our most popular runners, Stan Lee (Canada)‘s 5th GlobalLimits - The Ancient Khmer Path race and his 8th GlobalLimits race in total. Well done Stan!

Frank Touch, an IT expert and MD of a Cambodian IT company and a Cambodian, will be representing his country and it is his first multi-stage race!

This year we are very proud to be part of Swiss runner Benjamin Pralong‘s epic journey - his goal is to run as many races as possible since August 2017 and the race in Cambodia is going to be the highlight.

Honorary mention is our most senior runner (indeed he is senior), Portuguese runner Mario Machado (67) who is also the race director of the Lisbon Marathon and Half Marathon as well as the technical director of Marathon des Sables. This is also Mario‘s 100th ultra-races!

Who are going to be on the podium? We never know, as we are yet to welcome many new running faces in this race. However, our previous podium runners, Michael Traub from USA (2nd in Bhutan this year); and Xavi Marina from Spain (2nd in Sri Lanka 2016) are also with us this time and expected to be amongst the favorites.
