Stefan Betzelt/Germany - Founder and General Manager of GlobalLimits

Stefan was born and lives in Wiesbaden/Germany. He founded GlobalLimits in 2012. Stefan has a wealth of extreme racing experience, having participated in many of the most gruelling ultra races, such as Marathon des Sables, Les Foulees de la Soie, Himalayan 100Mile Stage Race, Racing the Planet Namibia and Desert Oman Raid. He also participated in about 20 city-marathons (PB 2:46) and successsfully climbed the Kilimanjaro and the Mount Aconcagua.

Stefan has visited more than 85 countries and learnt a great deal about different cultures and people. He now makes use of this experience to select outstanding and unique locations for the GlobalLimits races.

Stefan has worked as a managing director for some of the leading global financial institutions before he retired in 2004 to become a self employed financial and personnel consultant.

Stefan is also a member of the Curatoship of the Institute of Sports Medicine in Frankfurt/Germany.

Daniel Meyes, Zürich/Switzerland - Course Director

Daniel is a passionated multisport athletes coming from Zürich, who loves to be in nature. When traveling he tries to combine his activities with all kind of outdoor sports such as running, mountain biking, kayaking or rock climbing. Daniel is a frequent starter in international desert or mountain ultra races, triathlons and other multi-sport events.
He successfully completed the inaugural GlobalLimits events Cambodia 2012, Sri Lanka 2015 and Albania 2017 and finished all of them in the Top 6.
In 2013 he already volunteered at GlobalLimits Bhutan and in 2016 in Cambodia.
Now Daniel makes use of his excellent knowledge of the course in Cambodia and the needs of the runners when navigating.

Brett Burbridge, Denver/USA - Race Doctor

Brett was a paramedic for 13 year prior be a PA for 12years. He has 2 years of experience in cardio thoracic surgery and 10 years in emergency medicine.

He has a certificate in ATLS, ACLS, PALS.

In his free time he is an active telemark skier, mountain biker and Scuba diver. He has completed the Ironman Arizona in 2011 and 2012 beside other 70.3 and international distance races.

Spencer Tomberg, Denver/USA - Race Doctor

Spencer is a Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine. He has been an event physician for NCAA sports, World Cup Bobsled, Dew Tour, NBA, NYC Marathon and Iron Man races.

Harri Washington, Great Britain - Volunteer

Harri is originally from the UK and has lived and worked in Madagascar, Gabon, and Cambodia.

Working in wildlife conservation means that she has had the privilege to see some beautiful parts of the world, which she explores through another passion, running. She has been living in Cambodia for ten months now, where she enjoys running cross-country out in the remote province of Mondulkiri, as well as joining group runs in Phnom Penh and the surrounding area. She enters organised races in every place she lives.Harri just finished 3rd female in her first multi-day stage race at GlobalLimits Albania 2018.

She is looking forward to being inspired to take her running to the next level by experiencing firsthand the challenges and rewards of a GlobalLimits race.

Harri already served as a volunteer at GlobalLimits Cambodia 2016 + 2017, Bhutan 2017 and the inaugural race in Albania.

Geert Meese, Tielt/Belgium - Volunteer

Geert is a Belgian medic who decided to work a little bit less and spending  more time doing his passions: multi stage racing ( 100 km del Sahara, Marathon des Sables , Grand to Grand ….) , marathon racing , or volunteering in multi stage races ( Spain, Portugal, Oman …). a passion he sheares with his wife.
If not working or racing , his time is spend abroad with a high preference for unbeaten tracks in Asia or South America.  Always enthusiastic  to help participants to make their dreams come true.

Geert already served as a volunteer for GlobalLimits in Cambodia 2015 + 2016, Bhutan 2016 + 2017 + 2018 + 2019 and in Albania 2017 + 2018 + 2019.

Patricia Schellekens/Belgium - Volunteer

Patricia works as a registered nurse on the ER and intensive care of the University Hospital of Antwerp,since 1991

She speaks Dutch,French,English and some Spanish

She enjoys travelling, running, hiking, cycling and working as a volunteer on different kind of events.

Patricia ran some 100K, some marathons and a lot of smaller races.

Patricia is a very well experienced volunteer, in the medical and non-medical team. She already served  in several races: MdS, Andalusia Ultra Trail, Grand2Grand, KAEM, Legends Trail, Tomorrowland, Triathlons.

She enjoys helping people achieve their dreams of crossing the finish line.

Patricia already served as a volunteer in the inaugural race in Albania 2017 and Bhutan 2018.

Steven Hobert, Hamme/Belgium - Volunteer

Steven is a sports- physiotherapist in Belgium and red cross first aid teacher.

He is the checkpoint coordinator on Roc du Maroc (mountainbike) and Morocco desert challenge (rally) as well as the camp-manager at Libya desert challenge and Touaregtrail.

Steven is an experienced outdoor and remote first-aid and physio.

He is a trailrunner, mountainbiker, seakayakcoach and is a former officer para-commando Belgium.

Steven already served as a volunteer in Albania 2018.

Hun Socheat, Siem Reap/Cambodia - Logistics and Infrastructure

Socheat has got 10 year experiences working for two of the leading international travel companies in South East Asia. He has extensively traveled in the region including Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and Singapore. His last positions were Office Supervisor and Reservations Manager. Socheat has also been leading many cycling trips in the regions. He has joined Angkor International Bike Racing with his colleagues for many years to raise the fund to support children with HIV/AIDS and landmine victims.

Apart from professional business, Socheat has a long term career with the UN since 1993, the European Union (1996-1998). Socheat has also actively participated in social and community works. More than 5 years, he has volunteered his time to work as Project Manager for Arcadia Associate Inc.,(Seattle base) to support some the International and Local NGOs in Cambodia. Clients served: SILAKA, Church World Service (CWS), American Friend Services in Cambodia (AFSC), Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), PACT, Working Group for Weapon Reduction (WGWR), Youth Resource Development Program (YRDP), Youth For Peace (YFP), Action Conflict Transformation (ACT), Friend Economic Development Association (FEDA).

Socheat has got bachelor of English and Master of Business and Administration.
